Frequently Asked Questions

1.How do I know if a senior living community is right for me?

Independent Living is right when you can take care of yourself and you answer "Yes" to any of the following:

  • Would you enjoy participating in outings, craft projects, card games, or specialty clubs like a Book Club or Veteran's Club?
  • Would you benefit from regular exercise like walking on the nature trail or taking a stretching and balance class?
  • Would you benefit from having all the worries of everyday life - taking care of lawn, maintenance given to our staff, paying all utility bills, who cares for your home while traveling and more—taken care of?

2.What is the difference between Independent Living and Assisted Living?

Independent Living (IL) provides active seniors with an engaging, independent lifestyle. Forsyth Station offers hospitality-enriched retirement living, providing residents with exceptional service, style, friendships and fun. Families appreciate the comfort of knowing their family members are secure and well cared for in their own homes. Assisted Living (AL) offers a comprehensive level of licensed care for residents who need assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs). Assisted Living offers supportive care thoughtfully tailored to meet the specific needs of each resident. Memory Care (MC) is a specialized type of assisted living that focuses on the care and well being of residents with cognitive challenges.

3.Is living at Forsyth Station Independent Living really more affordable than staying at home?

To find out, first add up all of your—or your parent’s—current monthly expenses. This could include rent/mortgage, property tax, home owner's insurance, subdivision or association fees, utilities, lawn maintenance, trash removal, home repairs, housekeeping, transportation, exercise classes, groceries, home emergency call systems and more.

Now compare your total to the monthly rental program at Forsyth Station Independent Living. Our fees include all of these expenses—along with priceless peace of mind.

4.What's included in the monthly fee?

Our monthly rental program includes all utilities, fitness and exercise classes, innovative activities, well-being programs, educational and cultural programs, maintenance, and a 24-hour emergency pendant.

5.How will I know if I or my parent will be happy?
